Debut theme: add a sticky navbar that stays on scroll

Debut's header scrolls away with the page. This snippet pins the navbar (and optionally the announcement bar) so it stays on screen. You can turn desktop, mobile and homepage-only on or off from Customize. No app. Last tested on Debut in 2026.

You replace one file: sections/header.liquid. That overwrites the whole header. Download a backup first. Sticky header apps usually inject extra JS and charge a monthly fee. This one is copy/paste.

This is Debut only, the old free OS 1.0 theme. If you're on Dawn, sticky header is already a theme setting. You do not need this snippet.

What you'll paste

Header section file:

sections/header.liquid

How to replace the header

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.
  2. Find Debut, click the 3 dots > Edit code.
  3. Open sections/header.liquid. Select everything and delete it.
  4. Copy the ezfy-debut-header.liquid file from this gist, paste it in and save.

Any previous custom edits in that one file will be overwritten. That's why the backup matters.

How to turn it on

  1. From Online Store > Themes, click Customize on Debut.
  2. Click the Header section.
  3. Find the Sticky Navbar by EZFY settings. Turn sticky on for desktop, mobile or homepage only. You can also pin the announcement bar and change font sizes.
  4. Save. Preview the live storefront and scroll. The header should stay put.

If it doesn't stick

Check the file name. It has to be sections/header.liquid.

Check the Header settings. Sticky on desktop and sticky on mobile are separate checkboxes.

Hard refresh the storefront. Theme editor save is required before the live page updates.

This snippet is Debut. It will not work on Dawn, Sense or other OS 2.0 themes.

If you get stuck, tell me whether the header vanished or it still scrolls away. That usually solves it.
